Welcome to the Forum

Hello and welcome to the PC4DC Community Forum. I am your co-host, Dr. Shendl Tuchman.

This Forum is intended to be a resource for parents and for day care providers. It is our intention to offer you a wide range of information about day care, child development, parenting, etc. We hope you will find the topics interesting, thought-provoking and that you will make your own comments and ask questions when you read something on the Forum that stirs you. We are interested in your ideas and if you have topics that you would like to read about or have addressed in any way, we hope you will let us know.

I will be offering writings on a number of subjects and will bring in experts to further deepen the information available in any particular area. There are so many areas to explore and think about and we hope that over time this will become a place you will seek out to help you be the parent or day care facility you want to be.

Knowing how to make the best decisions is often difficult. Getting information and thinking about and discussing your alternatives is a great way to address the issues at hand, whether it is about choosing a day care center, working with parents, deciding if a child is ready for day care, etc. It is usually helpful to think, along with others.

It is our goal to create an environment that is collegial, interesting and challenging. We expect that the participants will be open-minded, civil in their exchanges and on a path that is in everyone’s best interest. Towards that end, we will be monitoring the contributions to make sure this occurs. It is not our intention to police in any way, but we do want to make sure this is a safe, interesting and nurturing place for all.

If you are interested in reading only, you are free to do so independently and anonymously. Should you wish to post to the Forum, you will need to be a member and create an account with an ID and password.
